Tammy Muehlenz
Masters Level Clinical Intern
Tammy is an intern therapist on Leadlight’s Adult and Couples Therapy team. She enjoys walking alongside individuals and couples as they navigate seasons of loss, trauma, identity shifts, changing family dynamics, and other life transitions. Tammy’s work is grounded in collaboration and curiosity, helping clients make sense of what has been, gently grieve what has changed, and thoughtfully build what comes next. She supports clients in noticing patterns, reconnecting to the present moment, identifying strengths, and developing practical tools that feel meaningful and true to who they are.

Tammy is currently a graduate student at Spring Arbor University. Originally from the South, she holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, and brings a rich and varied background to her clinical work, including experience in corporate settings, real estate, and as a birth doula. Her path toward counseling was shaped through years of mentoring individuals affected by addiction, eating disorders, and the intersection of culture, race, gender, sexuality, faith, and whole-person care. She integrates person-centered therapy with cognitive behavioral and existential approaches.
Tammy receives weekly collaborative supervision from Leadlight’s Clinical Director of Adult and Couples Therapy, along with ongoing support from a team of experienced licensed clinicians. In an effort to increase access to care across West Michigan, Tammy accepts Medicaid and offers a highly reduced intern rate.
