Dr. Anna Clawson, PhD, LMSW
Hello! I am Dr. Anna Clawson and I am a compassionate and empathetic therapist specializing in working with children ages 5 through adolescence. With a background in both education and mental health, I provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that is tailored to each client’s unique strengths.
As a Hispanic mental health professional, I bring both personal and professional insight to my culturally responsive care. I am dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where no one feels invisible, and where children and families from all backgrounds can thrive.
I believe in acknowledging past experiences without letting them define us. My goal is to empower clients to reshape their narratives while fostering resilience, self-worth, and meaningful growth. I have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent clients, addressing complex behavioral needs, and working collaboratively with families, schools, and community partners.
My academic journey began at Hope College, where I majored in Psychology and Sociology. While working at an adolescent treatment facility, I earned my Master’s in Social Work with a School Social Work Endorsement from Western Michigan University. Over the years, I’ve expanded my career into leadership roles, but my passion for mental health and social justice remains central to everything I do.
Throughout my career, I’ve maintained a commitment to systems reform and have continued to work part-time in the private sector, offering therapeutic services with a focus on creating safe, supportive, and non-judgmental spaces for healing and growth.
