Because our clinicians are at different stages of licensure and credentialing, not every clinician can accept every insurance plan. When you reach out, our admin team will help match you with a clinician who can accept your insurance and meets your other preferences.

For Medicaid Clients

Leadlight is committed to keeping Medicaid access part of our practice long-term. We offer two pathways:

Each of our licensed clinicians keeps a limited number of Medicaid
spots open at a time so we can sustain the practice and continue accepting Medicaid long-term. Availability varies by clinician.

We have ongoing availability for Medicaid clients with our supervised clinical interns.

When you reach out, our admin team will check availability across our team — including our intern openings — and let you know our soonest options.

Clinical Interns

Our supervised clinical interns provide therapy under the supervision of our licensed clinical directors and offer two access pathways:

We have ongoing availability for Medicaid clients with our clinical interns.

Sessions with a clinical intern are available at a reduced rate of $40 per session for clients paying out of pocket. This is a meaningful option for clients without insurance, or whose insurance we’re unable to accept.

The world of insurance can be confusing and overwhelming to navigate. While it is ultimately your financial responsibility to understand the benefits of your plan, our hope is to help clarify some key terms and processes if you are unfamiliar with them.

Many of our clients experience updates to their insurance benefits or have deductibles that reset in the new year, and we want to make sure you are prepared. Current clients: please keep an eye out for an email with a copy of this notice specific to your insurance provider, along with our updated Financial Disclosure, to review and sign in your Client Portal.

The amount you must pay out-of-pocket before your insurance begins to pay for services. If you have a deductible, you’ll be responsible for paying the full contracted rate with your insurance provider until it is met. Once your deductible is satisfied, your insurance provider will begin paying for a portion (or all) of your sessions, depending on your plan.

The percentage of the contracted rate you are responsible for after your deductible has been met. For example, if your coinsurance is 20%, your insurance covers 80% and you pay 20% of the contracted rate.

A fixed or flat amount due at the time of service if your deductible does not apply to outpatient mental health services.

The maximum total amount you will pay during your plan year. Once this is met, your insurance provides full coverage for covered services for the remainder of the year.

Most plans reset in January, but some reset at a different time depending on your plan’s start date. It’s important to know when your deductible resets — once it does, you will again be responsible for paying the full contracted rate until your new deductible is met.

If this change affects your ability to continue at your current session frequency, please discuss it directly with your clinician so we can plan accordingly.

Each insurance company sets its own contracted rates for outpatient mental health services. These rates determine what your insurance reimburses and what portion you are responsible for. If you change insurance plans while in care at Leadlight, your session cost may change.

Please reference the document we send in your Client Portal for specific information about your insurance provider’s contracted rates. Every plan is different and nuanced, so if you’d like more information on what to expect to pay based on your plan, please reach out to us or call the number on the back of your insurance card.
