Hi there! I’m Misty and my specialty is working with children and individuals ages 3 to young adulthood and families. I have a special love for working with middle school, high school, and young adults. I have experience working with kiddos experiencing big emotions, individuals grappling to make sense of their world after a traumatic event, dealing with family or peer conflict, domestic violence, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, and more. I also partner with schools to address school-related concerns and am experienced working with ADHD.

I utilize play, art, and sand tray interventions to make therapy fun! When appropriate I invite caregivers into the process and provide parenting strategies so the healing can continue happening at home. When I work with children and teens, I am comfortable taking a whole-family approach if therapeutically appropriate. In our initial sessions we will create a plan as a family unit that promotes and sustains healing for the whole family as well as the individual. For adolescents or young adults I utilize a combination of talk therapy (including DBT) and expressive arts to help process. I am also happy to meet with teens or young adults virtually! Additionally, I am EMDR trained in Safe EMDR and see some caregivers experiencing domestic violence. While I work with people and families of all faith beliefs (or nonbelief) I am also able to incorporate Christian faith in sessions at family’s specific request.

It is incredibly life-giving for me to come alongside families and restore hope through the healing process. There is no one or no family too broken to become whole again; you can always choose to grow and blossom into the person you were created to be. I am excited to join you or your family on the journey!
