Recovery for

Legal and Professional Requirements in West Michigan

Compassionate Care for Court-Ordered & Professional Recovery

Sometimes people seek recovery services because an employer, attorney, court, probation officer, licensing body, or other authority has required an evaluation or documentation.

Being required to participate does not mean that you will be treated without compassion or respect.

Our clinicians approach legal and professional services with objectivity, clinical integrity, and clear communication. We will explain the process, the limits of confidentiality, any documentation that may be provided, and what will be expected of you before services begin.

Legal and Court-Related Substance Use Evaluations

We provide substance use evaluations for individuals involved in legal proceedings or seeking guidance at the request of an attorney, court, probation officer, or other referring professional.

An evaluation may include:

  • A clinical interview
  • Review of relevant substance use history
  • Screening or assessment measures
  • Review of available legal or treatment documentation
  • Clinical impressions
  • Recommendations for education, counseling, treatment, or additional services

When appropriate authorization is in place, written documentation may be provided to the requesting party.

An evaluation is not a guarantee of a particular conclusion or recommendation. Our clinicians are responsible for providing an independent clinical opinion based on the information available.

Driver’s License Appeal Evaluations

We offer substance use evaluations for individuals navigating the process of restoring driving privileges following an alcohol- or substance-related revocation.

Because documentation requirements can vary according to the circumstances of the case, clients should confirm what is required with their attorney or the appropriate state authority before scheduling. Our team can explain what information is needed for the clinical evaluation and whether we are able to provide the requested service.
