You know what it’s like to live between worlds — to hold your family’s history in one hand and your own future in the other, and not always know how to make them fit. Maybe you’re navigating the weight of generational trauma, the complexity of your cultural identity, the exhaustion of holding everything together, or the quiet grief of feeling like you don’t fully belong anywhere. You don’t have to carry that alone. I’m Maribel, a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).

Languages

I’m the daughter of immigrant parents and the first in my family born in the United States — raised between California, Texas, and Michigan. That experience of navigating cultures, languages, and belonging shapes everything about how I show up for my clients. I’ve spent 8 years in social work serving vulnerable populations including refugee and immigrant families, children in foster care, and individuals navigating substance use and co-occurring challenges.
I work with individuals 11 and older, in both English and Spanish, on issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, domestic violence, substance use, and the deep work of identity and cultural belonging. I use CBT, motivational interviewing, and DBT-informed approaches — always tailored to your story. I believe healing happens when we can tend to our whole experience: our wounds, our relationships, our roots, and our hopes. I’d love to come alongside you in that work.
