Jessica Stovall, MA, LLC
Therapist
Three words tend to show up again and again in the work I do with clients: beginning, becoming, and belonging. Whether you’re taking the first courageous steps toward something new, sitting in the discomfort of being “in process,” or grieving the absence of a deep sense of belonging — these are the thresholds where real change happens. I’m honored to walk alongside people as they navigate those journeys, in all their difficulty and beauty. I’m Jessica, a Limited Licensed Counselor holding a Master’s in Counseling with a specialization in marriage and family counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where I’m also currently pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. I serve as an Assistant Professor-in-Residence in the MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Western Theological Seminary.
Ages I work with
- Individual Adult
- Couples
- Families
I work with individuals, couples, and families on trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, sexual shame, life transitions, and spiritual concerns. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) — an evidence-based approach for processing trauma and distressing memories that gets to the root of what’s keeping you stuck.
My therapeutic approach is informed by EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, family systems theory, and relational neuroscience. I desire to cultivate a welcoming, trauma-informed, whole-person-oriented space — where it feels safe to explore what it means to be human in a world of great trauma and great beauty.
