Gretchen Koster, Masters Level Counseling Intern

Gretchen Koster is a masters level counseling intern completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) from Cornerstone University, and she has a bachelor's degree in Special Education (K-12) and General Education (K-8) from Hope College. Gretchen believes we don’t have to be defined by our past, but much of our past may be constraining us from who we can and want to be. She views counseling as a non-judgmental space for you to process, become aware, and rewrite the story that you want to live. You only know what you know, and allowing yourself the space, time, and freedom to redefine what that means for you can help you live a life you are meant, deserve, and worth living. She would be honored to be invited into that space with you.

Her areas of interest include anxiety, depression, life changes and transitions, self-identity, attachment and relationship struggles, and career counseling. She approaches counseling from a more holistic approach and may utilize techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Attachment Theory.

As an intern Gretchen receives regular supervision from our clinicial directors and works on a team of phenomenal therapists who are experts in their field to assure you that you will be receiving a high level of quality care. To make therapy affordable and to meet the needs of the community she charges an intern rate between $20-$60 per session.
