Michelle Andrews,
MA, LLC
Hi there! I’m Michelle, a child, adolescent, and family therapist who loves helping kids and teens thrive at home, in school, and in life.
I work with children ages 4 and up, teens, and their caregivers, supporting families through challenges like anxiety, OCD, school struggles, trauma, and big life transitions. I also love working with neurodiverse populations, such as children and teens with ADHD or autism. My approach is warm, patient, and relational. I believe that healing happens when kids feel safe, seen, and understood.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 15 years working in education, teaching Kindergarten, 4th grade, and middle school levels. Those years gave me a deep understanding of how children learn, express themselves, and communicate their needs. I love collaborating with parents and teachers to bridge the gap between home and school, helping kids build confidence, emotional awareness, and resilience in both environments.
In my work with young children, I use child-centered play therapy to help kids process emotions and experiences in a developmentally appropriate way. I’m currently supervised by a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and enjoy incorporating pretend play, sand tray, and art into sessions to make therapy hands-on and engaging. With older children, teens, and families, I blend these expressive approaches with traditional talk therapy strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), to help clients develop insight, coping tools, and to feel confident handling stressors.
I also have a heart for working with children in foster care, those who have been adopted, and families from diverse and multicultural backgrounds. Having lived overseas for several years, I bring cultural sensitivity and curiosity to every session. Additionally, many of the families I work with have faced trauma or grief, and it’s an honor to walk alongside them as they rediscover safety, hope, and connection.
I work with individuals and families of all belief or non-belief backgrounds, and I’m also able to incorporate a Christian worldview into therapy when requested by the child.
Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, navigating big emotions, recovering from a scary trauma, struggling in school, or facing new life challenges, I’m here to support your family in finding your footing again.
I’d love to meet you and your child and begin this journey toward healing and growth together.
